Splinter Cell Movie
Paramout Pictures has acquired the film rights for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell and hired Peter Berg to direct and also co-write the script with JT Petty and John J. McLaughlin. Michael Ovitz will produce the movie, with Peter Berg, Michael Clancy, and Yves Guillemot serving as executive producers.Splinter Cell follows the steps of movie adaptations such as Tomb Raider, Doom, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell follows the adventures of Sam Fisher, a highly trained secret operative of the NSA's secret arm: The Third Echelon.
The videogame series grants players access to the highest echelons of national security, where shadowy operatives have the freedom to do whatever it takes to safeguard America.
The movie is due to come out later in the year, sometime around October.
